The holy pilgrimage Yamunotri, origin of the sacred river Yamuna and dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. It is famous for its glaciers and thermal springs. Gangotri is reached after having a long trekking of 13 kms from Hanumanchatti which is 213 kms from Rishikesh. As per the mythology, it was the residence of Asit Muni. |
