Tirupati Balaji

This holy, ancient and sacred temple of Sri Venkateswara lies on the seventh peak of the Tirupati Hill known as Venkatchala (Venkat Hill). Lord Venkateswara is also called the Lord of the Seven Hills. The reason and the faith of this holy temple in the hearts of pilgrims is due to the declaration of hymns made in the Shastras, PUranas, Sthala Mahatyams and Alwar that in the Kal Yuga (Present age), person can attain Mukti by worshipping only Lord Sri Venkateswara or Venkata Nayaka. Also the benefits of worshipping mentioned in Rig Veda and Asthdasa Puranas

The temple of Sri Venkateswara has acquired unique sanctity in Indian religious lore. The Sastras, Puranas, Sthala Mahatyams and Alwar hymns unequivocally declare that, i n the Kali Yuga, one can attain mukti, only by worshipping Venkata Nayaka or Sri Venkateswara. Places to visit includes Sampangi Pradkashinam (path for circumnavigating the temple), Padi Kavali Mahadwara (Outer Gopuram), Ranga Madapam (place where Lord Ranganadha of SriRangam Idol was kept during the Muslim rule). Tirumala Raya Mandapam or Anna Unjal Mandapam (Spacious complex of Pavilions) and the Aina Mahal where the Lord is seated and the festivals are conducted.
