Gir National Park :
The Gir National park. Located in the Junagarh District, Saurashtra peninsula in Gujarat. The word Gir is composed of terrain with steep rocky hills, deep ravines and occasional stretches of grasslands. The last surviving population of the Asiatic lion can be seen here in this National Park. Irrigated by many rivers, the park supports a mixed semi-arid deciduous forest.

| Other Marvellous creatures here are Chinkara, wild boar, striped hyena, jackal, common langur, porcupine, hare, black buck along with 200 other bird species which includes grey partridge, Bonelli's Eagle, peafowl, crested serpent eagle, jungle bush quail, painted sandgrouse, common green pigeon and several species of doves in this Sanctuary. Marsh crocodile can also be easily seen in its rivers. |
