Keoladeo National Park :

Keoladeo Ghana National Park is also also known as Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary is just 55km from the Agra. The name Keoladeo is derived from an ancient Hindu temple devoted to Lord Shiva in the Sanctuary. The "Ghana" is a hindi term which means dense forests. The rich aquatic plant and animal life in the shallow, fresh-water marsh of Bharatpur has been attracting resident and migratory aquatic birds in thousands since times immemorial. It has a recorded history of 100 years of duck shoots. There are over 380 species, belonging to approximately 56 families. This park has attracted migratory aquatic birds in thousands like the famous Siberian Cranes got attracted and visits this place every year.

Established : 1956 as a Bird Sanctuary, National Park in the year 1981.
Best Season : The park is open throughout the year. Best for resident Birds Aug-Nov. and for Migrant Birds it is Nov-March.
