Bengali Food :

 

Bengal is known for its Sweet Dishes all over in India and World and its greatest contribution to the food heritage of India is a magnificent sweets made from burnt milk and curd commonly known as 'Rasogullas', 'gulab jamuns', 'cham cham', 'malai sandwich', 'chena murki', 'anarkali', 'rajbhog'. You can not easily avoid these mouth-watering delicacies easily after tasting it once.

Other well known sweet dishes are 'Mishti dhoi' or yoghurt sweetened with jaggery , 'sandesh' or sweets made from burnt milk and 'singadas' or crisp samosas. Delicious Fish preparation is also a major part in Bengali Cuisine as most of the popular Bengali dishes are made from fish with lots of variety of styles to cook fish. They are at times marinated in spices, at other times cooked in curd. The spices play an important part in these dishes like the use of panchphoron i.e. five basic spices which include zeera, kalaunji, saunf, fenugreek and mustard seeds. It is definitely a complete treat to you and your friends.
