Bandipur National Park :

Bandipur is located on lushly-forested Deccan Plateau, Bandipur in Karnataka. It was previously the local Maharaja Voodiyar's hunting land which offers a rich and varied wildlife habitat with a mix of deciduous forests, evergreen forests and scrub well irrigated by the Moyar river.

Facts :
Area : 87,420 Hectares.
Established : Bandipur, 1931 as a Sanctuary, 1941 as a National Park, 1973 as a Tiger Reserve.
Best Season : Winter that lasts from Oct. to Jan. (Weather is almost moderate in the whole year).

Access :
By Air : Nearest airport is Bangalore .
By Rail : nearest railhead is Nanjangud.
By Road : Bangalore 60 kms, Gundulpet 20 kms, Nanjangud 55 kms
